For the past few weeks Abe and I have been holed up in the studio working on the next recording. So far it's all been going very well and I do believe we might be on the verge of genius here! The songs are coming out immediately (due in part to being cooped up in my head for too long no doubt) and Abe's layerings have been dressing them up nicely. Still being a bit of a novice to the whole production process it's been a real education arranging the songs. Doing harmonies and figuring out piano riffs and guitar lines to complement the skeleton of the song is infinitely fun but kinda like a mathematical formula. Adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying, all in perfect balance to timing and feeling. Admittedly Abe is doing the lion's share but we have been having dialogues frequently and he is so totally up there with my vision. Love that man.
